With around 2,400 service stations, Aral is the largest fuel retail network in Germany, the most important fuel retail market in Europe. As a premium provider of fuels and lubricants, Aral has been headquartered in Bochum since 1898 and invented the world’s first premium fuel in 1924, composed of aromatics and aliphatics – which is also the origin of the company name “Aral”. Since 2002, Aral has been the fuel retail brand of bp in Germany. An increasing number of stations are equipped with REWE To Go shops, offering customers a wide, high-quality selection of fresh snacks and hot food. In addition, with its e-mobility brand Aral pulse, Aral is one of the largest providers of publicly accessible ultra-fast charging stations in Germany, for both passenger cars and trucks. Furthermore, Aral offers new fuel options such as Aral HVO to provide lower-emission alternatives, also for existing vehicle fleets.
